Traffic lights in Bedford Road from 22nd July to 9th August 2024 (Reference number 61466752)
Due to increased pressure from existing and proposed development in the area, Anglian Water are planning to install a new public water main across Stondon. When new homes are built, they have a duty to connect them to water and sewerage networks – while ensuring existing residents and the local environment are not impacted. They need to plan and ensure the water infrastructure is resilient enough to go keep everyone supplied going forward.
The installation will involve a degree of disruption with an initial phase of confirming the location of assets in the ground using trial holes.
Anglian Water will close the footpath (FP4) from 08 July to 19 August 2024 to complete their work safely.
On 22 July Anglian Water will start investigation work in Bedford Road. They will have traffic lights between Loganberry Way and the entrance of the Three Star Park for around four weeks.
There will also be two-way traffic lights on Station Road from 29 July until 9 August.
The Parish Council have been pushing Anglian Water for more detail on the proposed works and managed to obtain the following. However, the information is potentially subject to change, which the Parish Council has no control over.
The traffic lights will be manned between 07:30 am and 09:00 am and from 15:30 and 19:30. No traffic management at weekends.
Week1
From Loganberry Way to Cherry Trees – four-way lights on Monday 22nd of July at 09:00 am for trial holes (th2, th3, th4).
Remove the four-way traffic management on Thursday 25th July at 12:30 pm.
Week2
Cherry Trees to Orchard Way/Midland Way (Northbound) – four-way lights on Monday 29th of July at 08:00 am for trial holes(th5).
Remove the four-way traffic management on Wednesday 31st July at 07:30 am.
Cherry Trees to Orchard Way/Midland Way (Southbound) – four-way lights on Wednesday 31st of July at 08:00 am for trial holes (th6, th7).
Remove the four-way traffic management on Friday 2nd of August at 09:00 pm.
Week3
Orchard Way/Midland Way to Three Star Park – four-way lights on Monday 5th of August at 08:00 am for trial holes (th8, th9, th12).
Remove the four-way traffic management on Thursday 08th August at 07:30 am.
