Our local environment in Stondon: what do we value; what do we want?
The Stondon Neighbourhood Plan Residents Survey showed just how much our local environment is valued. A key step towards producing our Neighbourhood Plan is to bring this together in a Green Infrastructure Survey. We really do need your help to do this.
We live in a great community surrounded by valuable countryside. We also live in an area which is changing with increased pressure for development. We now have an opportunity to have our say in how our local environment can be protected and enhanced.
You are invited to take part in a community engagement activity which will help shape and prioritise actions for future enhancements to Stondon’s network of public access, biodiversity, heritage and landscape assets. Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity (BedsRCC) is leading on the production of a Stondon Green Infrastructure Plan which will help inform the emerging Stondon Neighbourhood Plan.
BedsRCC Presentation evening
BedsRCC would normally start this process with a facilitated community workshop, but this will not be possible with the current social-distancing requirements imposed due to Covid-19. We will therefore be commencing this consultation process on-line, commencing with a live Zoom presentation from BedsRCC at 7.00pm (19:00) on 25 March 2021. This presentation will be followed with an opportunity to complete an online survey, in your own time over the subsequent couple of weeks. The survey will seek your views on what you value about the local area and what your aspirations are for the future. Maps and guidance notes will be available to view on a dedicated BedsRCC web page.

More details of where the survey can be found will be circulated in the near future.
The results of this initial consultation exercise will be collated to create a draft Green Infrastructure map of community aspirations.
A further consultation on this draft map will be undertaken later in the spring and early summer.
