We have received the following update from Anglian Water related to ongoing works in Stondon:
We know that laying new pipes can be disruptive, but we’re doing everything we can to keep the work running smoothly and ensure the safety of both the public and our team.
We’re making good progress and have now installed 1.2km of the planned 1.8km pipe. Our teams are continuing along the route, and we’re still on track to complete the work by April.
What we’ve done so far:
- The new pipes on Station Road have been completed.
- Work is now underway on Pollards Way, Bluebell Drive, and Brassey Way. During this phase, there will be traffic lights and some short road closures in place.
Once the new pipes are installed and connected to our network, we’ll repair the roads and fully reopen them. While this is a complex project that can occasionally take longer than expected, we remain on schedule for completion by April.
Looking ahead:
As we approach the final stage, we will need to lay and connect pipes across Bedford Road (A600). To carry this out safely, the following temporary traffic measures will be in place:
- Temporary traffic lights: 23–27 February
- Full road closure: 28 February–1 March
- Full road closure: 7–8 March
