Leaflets from Rainier Developments are arriving (as of today – 10th June 2020) on a proposed outline planning application for new homes on land west of Bedford Road, to the south of Lower Stondon.
The proposer seeks to provide a development of 115 new homes. The scheme is adjacent to the Mulberry and Barrett developments. Thee proposer advises that the scheme has been informed by a series of technical and environmental studies and could provide opportunities for traffic calming, new landscaping and enhancements to biodiversity.
Rainier Developments has entered pre-application discussions with Central Bedfordshire Council planning officers but have not submitted an application, yet.

They have stated that the site is in a sustainable location and within walking distance to local facilities and services in Lower Stondon and local public transport. The site could make a positive contribution to the delivery of new homes to assist the Council in maintaining its supply of housing land. There are no technical constraints on the site and a sensitively designed scheme will establish a new clearly defined boundary south of the village. A series of financial contributions would be agreed with the Council to support the delivery of local infrastructure improvements for the village.
