Back in early 2020 Stondon and Henlow Parish Council’s, along with support from CBC, funded the setting up of Parkrun.
A suitable location was researched and Henlow Bridge Lakes offer to host it, however, we had other challenges at the time.
On the Saturday, 25th September, the inaugural event with 92 runners attending took place.
This Saturday, 2nd October, 147 runners attended. Both events were supported with over twenty volunteers at each event.

This event has been well received by many people within our community, indeed 12 people attended their first every Parkrun.

Lastly, we had a VIP attend – Danny Norman. Danny was one of the founding members of Parkrun, 17 years ago today. These days he travels around Parkruns publishing podcasts about the parkruns he visits.
With the support from SPC, HPC and CBC for funding this event, we believe this is something our communities can enjoy for many years to come.
We also like to thank David Curson and his entire team at Henlow Bridge Lakes whom have been incredibly supportive whilst we were setting up parkrun and continue to do so every Saturday. Without their support this event could not take place.
