Walk One with link to PDF and map
This circular eight-kilometre walk (five miles) covers the northern/western footpaths in Stondon and also strays into Meppershall and Shillington. It will take just over two hours. The start point is the village sign by the mini-roundabout on Station Road. Distances are given in metres (‘m’) but these are approximate and so just substitute “yards” for “metres” if you prefer to stick to the Imperial System!

When ‘off road’ please remain on signed footpaths – do not stray onto farmland, shut farm gates, and if you take dogs you must keep them under control! And now for the directions to enable you to complete the walk.

For info, at a slow pace, it takes about 15-20 minutes to walk 1000m.

Walk Two with link to PDF and map
This circular 7.5 kilometre (4.75-mile walk) covers the footpaths of Stondon to the south & east and also strays into Hertfordshire. It will take just under two hours. The start point is the village sign by the mini-roundabout on Station Road. Cross over Station Road (carefully) and enter Shannon Close.

Walk Three with link to PDF and map
After two five mile walks, here’s the final route that covers the remaining Stondon Footpaths. It is slightly shorter at only about 6.5 kilometres (approx four miles). It will take just under two hours.

FP5/FP4 Bedford Rd to Hillside Road (part of Walk One)

North of Greyhound Stadium (Bedford Road) is Footpath FP5 which joins up with FP4 and exits at Hillside Road.

After joining FP5 this will become FP4 (after 400m if you keep to the left) and runs parallel to Station Road.

At about 900m the footpath has a right hand fork which leads to Manor Farm, this is not a public footpath.

The footpath then dips down at 1km into a tree covered path for about 100m and emerges at the back of the football field.

The path continues for 150m at the back of the houses emerging onto Meppershall Road/HillsideRoad.

The length of this path is approximately 1.4km
